Dick Hudson’s Fell Race, Thurs 26 April

As Spring supposedly arrives, so the evening fell races return. Last week saw five Toddies compete in Wharfedale Harrier’s Dick Hudson race over Ilkley Moor, 11.2km with 335 metres of climbing. Darren Graham was first Harrier back in 30th place (58.02), followed by Martin Roberts in 70th (1.04.30) and Simon Anderton in 105th (1.08.50). Jane Leonard, continuing her strong return to racing was 115th and 1st LV60. The unstoppable Sue Roberts, trying to complete 40 races this year on the 40th anniversary of the Tod Harriers finished in 141st (1.27.29). Race winners were Ilkley Harrier Jack Cummings in 46.51 and Ribble Valley’s Katie Walshaw in 50.07, setting a new women’s record in the process.
