Whaley Waltz

The Todmorden Harriers club championship continued on Saturday with the 5.8 mile Whaley Waltz fell race.
Organised by Goyt Valley Striders in the Peak District, the race is a short blast from Whaley Bridge, up to Windgather Rocks and back again but not without a cooling plunge into the River Goyt before entering the finish field.

Lakeland Trails 110k Ultra

The Lakeland Trails 110km ultra marathon took place on Saturday 27th June. Amongst the 200 runners out enjoying the sunshine on the beautiful yet tough course were Stephen Pullan and Elise Milnes of Todmorden Harriers.
Sporting his new ‘ultra-beard’, Todmordens best dressed distance runner ran a superb race right from the start and never slowed down as he chased the leaders over 6 mountain passes and along 5 lake shores to finally finish in 4th place overall and 2nd V40. When asked how he felt after completing such a gruelling event in an elite time, Pullen replied ‘its really good’, whilst stroking his designer facial hair.

Mont Blanc 80k marathon

The legendary Craig Stansfield of Todmorden Harriers took the Ultra running game up yet another notch over the weekend as he took on the Mont Blanc Marathon in Chamonix, France.
The trails cross through an entire valley, over summits, south side trails, then the north side trails, as the runners discover the panorama of the Mont-Blanc range. The 82km route includes 6000m of vertical climb and saw ‘Stanners’ finish in an impressive time of 14:55:50 and 52nd place amongst a stacked field of international athletes.
