Hoofstones Fell Race, 27 Jan

Annie Roberts led the Todmorden Harriers side home in a tough race around the Hoofstones course at the weekend. There was mud and clag aplenty to challenge the runners as they made their way around the navigation section. Several runners missed one of the checkpoints, proof of the challenging nature of the course. Annie Roberts was more than up for the challenge. She won the female senior race and was also first Harrier home finishing in a heroic sixth place overall in a time of 1.21.31. The originator of the event, Dan Taylor, was first male home and 2nd across the line for Todmorden. He came home in 10th place overall in a time of 1.23.42. The overall race winner was Calder Valley’s Mark O’Connor.
