Penmaenmawr Fell Race

On Saturday three Todmorden Harriers and three Calder Valley runners visited North Wales to run the Penmaenmawr Fell Race over the Cerrig Gwynion hills. 161 runners tackled the course which is fast and runnable apart from the initial steep climb and a boggy traverse mid-section. Calder Valley’s John Emberton was 2nd Vet55 in 34th place, Phil Scarf was next Calder Valley runner home finishing 43rd, and Jackie Scarf was 1st Vet55 woman in 55th place. First Todmorden Harrier home was Phil Hodgson in 63rd place, claiming the 3rd Vet60 prize, Jane Leonard was 1st Vet60 woman in 108th place and Mandy Goth finished in 121st position.
