Toddies Hit the Trail in Style

The Hit the Trail 5 mile trail race in Reddish marked the first trail race of the Todmorden Harriers annual Grand Prix. This brought a good turnout from the club from those runners eager to get points on the table early in the season, with fourteen athletes making the journey to South Manchester. There were good runs from many Toddies, although the particularly muddy section over the last half mile made for a challenging finish to the course. Paul Brannigan was the first Todmorden Harrier home, finishing in 3rd place in a time of 30.07. Slides reminiscent of Bambi on ice in the thick mud kept him from placing even higher. He was also first MV50. The first lady home for Todmorden was Kerry Edwards. She placed well in her category, finishing 2nd in the FV40 age group. She completed the course in 35.21 in 65th place overall.
