Todmorden Harriers made their presence know over in Saddleworth on Thursday for the Alderman’s Ascent Fell Race. This fundraising race, held by local Rugby League club Saddleworth Rangers, is a tough 5 mile run with over 1000ft of climbing. The route does a lap of the playing fields before ascending to the Pots and Pans monument. Runners get into their stride over the moor before the big, technical descent off Alderman’s Hill before turning around and heading back up. Then its a long descent back to the finish.
