Barrowford ‘Podium’ 5k, 15th June

The fast and furious Podium 5k race series took place in Barrowford on Friday 15th June. With the added allure of Grand Prix points for those contesting the club’s GP there was plenty to race for. A grand total of 19 Todmorden Harriers took part across the ‘A’ and ‘B’ races. There were strong performances from five Todmorden Harriers in the ‘A’ race, with Andrew Worster claiming a fine 4th position in a time of 16.19. Darren Shackleton took second placed honours for the Harriers, finishing 27th overall in 17.29. Richard Butterwick took 31st in 17.38, Darren Tweed 34th in 17.53 and Duncan Cannon 52nd in 18.53. Luke Turner of Clayton-Le-Moors Harriers won the ‘A’ race in 15.59.
There was a significant Todmorden presence in the ‘B’ race with some fantastic individual results, including excellent age category performances. Matt Flanagan claimed 2nd place overall in a time of 17.49, also claiming first in the MV45 age group. Pauline May was second to cross the line for Todmorden. She claimed 1st lady and 1st FV35 in a time of 19.23. Other notable performances included Richard Blakeley’s 1st in the MV75 age group in a time of 23.19 and Peter Erhardt – second in the MV70 age group in 29.20. Full B race results:
