Bridestone Fell Race, 26 Jun

Last Tuesday seven Todmorden Harriers took part in the local Bridestones Fell Race organised by Tod Harrier Dan Taylor. All proceeds went to a local play group based at the Fielden Centre. It is a short, 4.7 mile race involving 1230 foot of climb up to the Bridestones above Todmorden. The ground was dry and soft, and apart from a steep descent through gorse, was perfect running conditions. Andy Payne of Calder valley won in 37.12 and first Harrier was Duncan Canon in 40:46, 9th overall. Tristian Langlois was 13th in 43:10 and closely followed by Rebecca Patrick, who continues to build on her fine form, in 44:33, 15th overall and first lady. Strong performances were made by Kath Brierley 28th (50:08 ) and 2nd V50. Derek Donohue was 32nd (51:18) followed by Robin Gray 33rd (51:21). Jane Leonard was 35th in 51:42.
