British Fell Champs

Tal Y Mignedd, 9 June
Report by Darren Graham

Snowdonia, Wales was the host of the next round of the British Fellrunning Championship. As with all the Engish and British Championship races, it is included in the Toddy Grand Prix Championship and 15 Toddies took the trip to the farm at Tal Y Mignedd. This classic short out and back fell race is only just over 4 miles but the accent is over 1700ft! Runners start along a simple farm track before they have to steeply climb to the monument at the top before the rapid descent back to the farm. 250 of the countries’ best runners took on the challenge and Andrew Worster finished in 25th place with a great time of 36.47. Annie Roberts continues to shine for the Toddy Ladies finishing 1st Toddy Lady in 123rd place with a time of 45.39.
Mel Blackhurst won the Ladies V50 category in 169th place with her time of 50.17. Full Toddy results……
