The second trail race of the 2024 GP saw a return to Thompson Park in Burnley for the Brun Valley 10K Trail with 22 Toddies taking part. The route is a mix of twists and turns, laps and crossing of earlier parts, and there was concern in the Tod ranks when the organisers emailed out with instructions to follow white, orange with no dot and then orange with dots arrows when passing points for the first, second and third time.
In the end the route was clear and there were some great results for Todmorden. First highlight of the day was Andy Worster being the race winner, with Dom Leckie as second Tod (7th overall) and Joe Daley returning from a week of skiing to take third (10th overall). Next highlight was Janine McGregor-Stead finishing second lady, (20th) and Rebecca Howell (26th) in her first race for Todmorden as third lady, both winning their age categories too. Hannah Prince was third lady for Todmorden (53rd).
No official prizes for age categories but Todmorden claimed a few more:
Hannah Prince 2nd F35, Lisa Peatfield 3rd F45. Dan Taylor 2nd M45, Richard Butterwick and Sam Lund 2nd & 3rd M50 and Mark Anderton 3rd M60.
