The Grizedale Marathon is a stunning race, with a course that snakes through the Grizedale forest skirting the shores of Lake Windermere. The route includes about 1,000 meters of ascent and decent and a mixture of rocky paths and muddy tracks with stunning views of the Lake District.
The race was won by Lewis Bowness of Helm Hill Runners, in a dizzying 3:45. Running in his first marathon from Todmorden Harriers, Josh Fenton-Glynn finished the race in 91st place from the field of 220 in five hours and five minutes.
