British Fell Championship Awards
After a quick turn around from the Cross Country, a handful of Tod Harriers headed to Ilkley for the Fell Runners Association Annual Presentation held in Ilkley, organised by Pudsey and Bramley. Todmorden Harriers were present to collect British Team Championship Awards. This year’s competition involved a run into the claggy unknown of The Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland, followed by the sweltering heat of the Tal Y Mignedd in Wales, the gruelling Lakes classic of Buttermere and the epitome of hard running, Ben Nevis. Both the Women’s Vet 40 team (Kate Mansell, Melanie Blackhurst, Rebecca Patrick, Lucy Hobbs and Claire Duffield) and the men’s Vet 40 team ( Graeme Brown, Nick Barber, Paul Hobbs, Dwane Dixon, John Riley and Jon Wright) received Bronze medals. Melanie Blackhurst also received an individual Bronze Vet Woman 50 Award.
