St Anne’s 10 Mile Road Race

The third race in the club championship and first in the road calendar saw 17 Todmorden Harriers take part in St Anne’s 10 mile road race. The race along the coast of St Anne’s takes runners down the promenade before looping around Fairhaven lake. With conditions described as ‘bracing’, there was an excellent turnout for Todmorden who wanted to test themselves on this flat and fast course. The battle towards the front of the race between Nick Barber and Darren Shackleton was a close run thing: Nick came out on top finishing in 13th position overall with Darren just behind in 14th, and they were 3rd men’s team along with Richard Butterwick. The Todmorden ladies Emma Fiedler, Katie Samuelson and Katch Skinner put in a great performance to grab 3rd in the ladies’ team prize.
