Stan Bradshaw Pendle Round

The sun finally showed its face, providing the backdrop for a glorious day of racing at the Stan Bradshaw Pendle Round. A 9 mile loop of the ever present Pendle Hill starting with quite a stiff climb from the Ogden valley straight to the summit before a beautiful ridge run round to the back end of hill before another stiff climb setting it up nicely for a very fast but very muddy sprint descent back to the finish line. 5 Toddies were in attendance with Aaron Hargreaves (pictured) and Ricky Parrish battling it out from start to finish to try and take the coveted prize of first toddy over the line. There were 9 seconds in it in the end, with Ricky able to just pull away on the final descent before almost being caught again on the final stretch. The incredible Mel Blackhirst, who in her words was just out for a “warm up for next week’s Haworth Hobble”, ran a great race to finish 2nd FV50. Jon Wilson had a fine run amid concern that he had tweaked his ankle in the warm up but that didnt stop him on his debut run for the club and Sue Robert’s put in an excellent and consistent run as always. Great work from everyone.
