Tour of Norland Moor

Halifax Harriers’ excellent Tour of Norland Moor took place on Sunday.  This race, in its relative infancy, starts and finishes at Copley Cricket Club.  Despite having 800 feet of climb in just over 6 miles, the Tour of Norland moor offers super-fast, runnable trails, with a short section of road to boot.  Matt Flanagan and Louse Abdy represented Todmorden Harriers, making the short excursion.  Flanagan continued to show good form, coming 13th position in a time of 43.52 and third in the Vet 40 category.  Abdy replicated Flanagan’s category position, achieving third-placed Female Vet 55.

Halifax Half Marathon

Race machine, Richard Butterwick took part in his tenth half marathon of the year over the bank holiday.  Halifax half marathon is a testing course; one designed to entice fell and trail runners onto the road.  This brought out the best in Butterwick who came in an excellent seventh position, just over hour and a half mark.  It’s clear that Butterwick’s recent foray into a wider range of fell races is paying dividends.
