Tod continue to bloom in Red Rose XC

Red Rose XC League, Race 1, 15 October 2016

Todmorden Harriers made an impressive start to the Red Rose Cross Country League season with strong performances at Sunday’s race, held at Leigh Sports Village. The Harriers performed well last year and are looking to build on their successes in this challenging discipline over the rest of the 2016/17 series. The Mens Vets and Womens Vets teams finished second and third in their respective categories with a series of strong individual finishes from the Tod runners.

Rebecca Patrick took 3rd place in the FV45 category in 23.06 with Kate Mansell following her in in 4th place in the age group (25.14). Mel Blackhurst was 2nd in the FV50 in 23.59.

Nick Barber was first man home for Todmorden. He finished 13th overall in 39.15. Jonathan Wright was 5th V45 in 40.03. Graeme Brown was third Todmorden man across the line – 6th V40 in 40.06. Richard Blakeley took 1st place in the V70 age category in 56.39.
