Toughs of the Trail at Stainland

Stainland Trail Race – 21 Sep 2014
Todmorden Harriers athletes headed to the Stainland Trail Race on Sunday for the penultimate counter in their club trail championships. Craig Stansfield claimed the 1st aged 45-49 male prize with a fine 8th place. Darren Tweed got his 3rd qualifier in to move above Stansfield at the top of the men’s trail championship table. Dan Taylor moved into 3rd, Michael Harper into 4th and Andy Glyde into 6th. This year’s championship will go down to the wire in the final race, but neither Harper, Stansfield or Taylor can make the final race. In the ladies race Kirsty Patten, Louise Abdy and Andrea Taylor contested the goal of being 1st Tod lady with Patten winning out and less than 2 minutes separating all 3. Helen Wilson remains top of the ladies trail table. The buzz word post-race was “tough” in describing the course.
