Turnslack Fell Race, 29 Jul 2017
Report by Paul Alexander

On Saturday, the BM category Turnslack fell race took place in Calderbrook covering 8 miles and 2000ft of climbing. In its 40th year it didn’t disappoint with 8 Harriers in action, and the going was fairly soft due to the recent rain. Mike Fanning of Holmfirth was the first home in 70.52 whilst the Ladies race was won by Donna Cartwright of Radcliffe in 87.11.
The first Toddie to cross the line was Danny Aspinall (pictured), putting in a fantastic performance for 10th in 76.42. Duncan Cannon was the second Harrier in 84.37 for 33rd. Danny was pleased to scoop a prize of Aloe Vera toilet rolls and Dave Collins a punnet of strawberries for 2nd V60. The Harriers also enjoyed the great variety of cakes at the finish.
