London Marathon

The London Marathon very much lived up to the hype on Sunday with several Toddies amongst the 42,000 other runners. Whilst race winner Eliud Kipchoge made the 26.2 look easy with a comfortable course record of 2:02:37, so did some of our very own club runners. Andy Ford led the way with a very impressive 2:54:54 for 1502nd position. Robin Tuddenham wasn’t far behind, once again demonstrating his well-known metronomic tendencies, as he ran a perfectly paced race to finish in 2:56:53 for 1739th and 83rd v50.
Stuart Wolstenholme ran a superb debut marathon to finish in an admirable 3:46:59 to finish in the top 25% of the field in 10,783rd place.
Dan Taylor didn’t quite get the chance to convert his fantastic fitness and recent race results to the marathon distance in London. He pulled up after 15 miles with stomach cramps despite putting in a gutsy and strong performance to this point.
