There are plenty of opportunities for young runners to race on the fells, cross country and in Park Runs. Young Toddies have achieved very good results in their age groups. Click here for a race calendar of local events (and some further afield) that juniors can compete in.
Tuesday Training Sessions
We have regular Tuesday sessions for juniors aged between 8 and 12, led by qualified and safety-checked coaches, which mix fun with structured training for fitness, health and self-respect. Activities are graduated to suit different ages and fitness levels.
At the end of the session, we usually issue best effort trophies (returned the following week).
We also run an annual Junior Grand Prix, comprising a series of local races in which juniors can participate to win medals.
Thursday Coaching Sessions
For over-12s, our Thursday sessions build on the fundamentals of running and aim to prepare juniors for longer running activities and events. Sessions are structured to include a mix of technique, strength and conditioning, and endurance.

Parents Please NoteOur child protection regime requires parents to submit a current DBS certificate to remain on the premises during training sessions, whether assisting or as spectators. All coaches are all DBS checked.
The club has a maximum of 24 participants to comply with coach-to-child ratios, so your child may be put on a waiting list if we are oversubscribed.
